Virtual Retail Therapy

Need a place to escape from the heat wave?

~~ Come with me to two of my favorite destinations
 for some virtual retail therapy ~~

Seaweeds
~~

 Brewster Massachusetts
~~
on the inner coast of Cape Cod

~~ treasures of the sea in every nook ~~
(look at those picture frames with tiny shells!)

And in case you were thinking beach house decor was all blue, white and boring gray, look at these colors!
In the bright seaside light bright colors work very well.

Do you see anything you like here?  I’ll fill my virtual shopping cart with the painting of the daffodil and the mosaic mirror for my guest room.

The needlepoint rug would be nice to step onto out of the shower.  And the shell encrusted planter needs to come to my house where I will fill it with beach roses.

Birdhouses like this one with the tin roof are so hard to resist!  And that blue rattan chair calls my name when I walk in.

Speaking of blue ~~ armoire ~~ ooh ~~ sigh ~~
Or maybe the gorgeous birdcage.
I have been trying to convince myself that I have space for it.  It is huge.

It won’t fit in the car but since we are just pretending, I’ll take it.

I always look at this lamp.  Oysters shells~~ how cool is that?

But maybe the most beautiful item in the shop is this swan ~~ hand carved from a single piece of wood.  I love swans, but I’ll have to win the lottery to really take this one home.  It is truly breathtaking.  Maybe the swan print will be in our budget, or the pewter scallop shell sculpture.  Both would be welcome in my house!

If you’re in the mood for more fun, we can travel down the Cape.

Mermaids on Main
~~

Chatham
Massachusetts

on the elbow of Cape Cod

We can pretend that we’re lovely mermaids ~~

~~ drink nectar from mugs in this gorgeous color ~~

~~ or relax with bath salts and candles ~~

~~ and rest our mermaid tresses on chenille pillows.

~~ We can adorn ourselves with pretty trinkets ~~

~~ and add to our collections of shorebirds (I have one, and you will too when you see them … πŸ™‚ ) ~~

Did anything go into your virtual shopping cart?
~~~~~~~~~
Now the beach is calling me.
Would you like a postcard from this lovely spot?
I love sending postcards and if you would like one, let me know in the comments ~~ but email your address to me ~~ greenlinda@me.com
I hope you are staying cool!
  1. Both of these shops are so much fun. I enjoyed my virtual retail therapy. Since I am not going on vacation this summer, I would enjoy a pretty postcard. xo
  2. What fun! On my recent trip to Galveston, I shopped at The Naked Mermaid. πŸ˜‰ Cute shop full of wonderful seaside decor like these shops. We spent a week in Chatham in the 1980s. Fell in love with the Cape and Nantucket that summer. My souvenir that summer was an antique wicker love seat that we had shipped home to Texas. It’s still one of my favorite pieces after all these years.
  3. Linda, this really cooled me off and made me want to want to put my toes in the water on Cape Cod. One of our favorite destinations. I could spend a month there! Our friends bought their house on the Cape two years ago, and actually found it on Craigslist. I would love everything in those beautiful stores. LOL
  4. Oh I so love these beautiful shops! Would love to visit there sometime..so many gorgeous and bright colors! Enjoyed virtual shopping..thanks for sharing these lovely shops!
  5. What a fun shop filled with such unique things! I could spend hours looking and snooping around shops like this! That starfish rug would have come home with me… for sure! Thanks for the virtual shopping trip. My creativity and pocketbook thanks you!
  6. Thanks so much for taking me shopping in such cute shops!! I would have a hard time getting out of each of those shops. Maybe it’s a good thing it was just a virtual trip;)
  7. That is so blue-tiful!
    I goofed! I set the Blue Monday post for 6AM instead of 12 Midnight. Please forgive me, and come link in.
    Happy Blue Monday, Linda.
  8. Oh there are so many things that JUMPED right into my virtual cart:) Thanks so much for taking us along, I love beach shops….NOT the touristy junk shops though! Beautiful beach decor in these shops. XO, Pinky
  9. I love the beach! We use to vacation in Maine. My heart longs for those days. I love going in and out of little gift shops. I enjoyed our virtual shopping. Thank you! I bought so many things as we looked….just can’t take my eyes off of all the blue. We must do this again! Lunch too.
    Blessings My Friend,
  10. Linda~ This is MY kind of retail therapy and I love all things mermaid! I would happily help you lash that gorgeous bird cage on the top of your car~ I’ve had years of on-the-job lashing training! I would love a postcard~ it may be the closest I get to the beach this summer πŸ™‚
  11. Love the Cape, used to go for 2 weeks every year. Then we found where we live, and it is easier to get here! I remember trying to get across that bridge and sitting in traffic for hours!
    It must be very different now, it has been years since we went.
    Hope you are having fun!
