St. Patty’s Day in Dublin

Ireland
Mr. Fun is in Dublin.  Right now!  He stepped onto his hotel balcony and snapped this photo of his view, including the tower of Dublin Castle, for me to share with all of you!  He travels to Ireland (lucky him) every quarter on business, and I (lucky me) reap the rewards when he finds goodies to bring home!  He has learned to be a very good shopper.
Some of my favorite treasures~~

~~ Nicholas Mosse Pottery ~~
~~ wool scarves ~~
~~ and maybe my favorite Bewley’s tea! ~~

Did you know Guinness planned to build pipes to the docks to carry the fresh beer to the ships which would then travel the world, but they stopped for fear of residents tapping into the pipe?
REAL draft Guinness is only available in Ireland!

~~ Waterford crystal ~~
~~ silk and wool scarves ~~
~~ pottery ~~

These vases are holding sunflowers from the study, yellow tulips Mr. Fun gave me before he left for the airport, 🙂, and branches from my yard which I am forcing so Spring arrives more quickly.

The glaze on this piece is truly superb.

A few years ago, Charlotte, Will and I also traveled to Ireland, and we were lucky enough to be there on St. Patrick’s Day.
The parade in Dublin is an odd mix of serious, impressive marchers,

I think this is Queen Elizabeth I, and I really don’t want to know what they are going to do to her!

Dublin is a beautiful city, as is Trinity College with the Book of Kells, but you must travel to the countryside to truly appreciate the immense and breath taking beauty of Ireland.
